Victor Rao's prayer from age 10 was that God would use him in ministry. And today, the beautiful fruit of the prayers God put on the heart of this young boy are being seen in the lives of many.

Since Victor's parents did not share his Christian faith, his road to ministry would not be an easy one. But when a way opened up for him to attend Bible college at age 18, Victor jumped at the opportunity. He sold his bicycle and used the proceeds to travel to the college. For three years, he studied God's Word and prepared for ministry. He then began serving the Lord full-time as a Gospel for Asia-supported native missionary. Victor Rao's prayer from age 10 was that God would use him in ministry.

And dozens of people today have personally experienced hope in Christ through Victor's faithful ministry, including a young man named Ranjit.

Much like Victor, Ranjit grew up in a non-Christian family that would visit temples to worship and offer sacrifices to their many deities. As he grew older, Ranjit developed a habit of drinking alcohol. He often would fight with his friends, who were also drinking. Ranjit's habit began to take its toll on him, and he lost peace and went through a deep depression.

At this crucial juncture in his life, Ranjit met Victor, who was serving in his village. Victor engaged him in conversation and then began to share God's love with him. Ranjit gave him his full attention, and God's Word began to touch his heart. He told Victor he wanted to know more about Jesus, and Victor gave him a Bible and encouraged him to read it regularly.

Like this man worshipping in church, Ranjit is now a new creation in Christ. Ranjit eagerly accepted the Bible. As he was reading one day, he came across 2 Corinthians 5:17, which talks about anyone who is in Christ being a new creation. The Lord used that verse to speak to Ranjit's heart, showing him that Jesus really wanted to give him a new life.

Realizing only Jesus could give him peace, Ranjit put his trust in Him. He started attending church and worshipping his Savior. His neighbors mocked him for his new faith, and even his own parents and other relatives threatened him, warning, "If you continue to believe in Jesus Christ, we will not allow you to stay in our village."

But Ranjit continued to grow in his faith and kept attending church regularly. And living by the wonderful truth that he was indeed a new creation in Christ, he quit his alcohol habit and completely changed his lifestyle.

Victor has been right by Ranjit's side to encourage him and give him good counsel for his Christian walk. Although Ranjit's family and neighbors have rejected him, he has the wonderful assurance that Jesus will never leave nor forsake him.

Please pray that Ranjit will continue to grow in his walk with Christ, and that his family and others in the village will want to know Him, too. Pray also for the Lord's continued blessings on Victor's ministry in a challenging but fertile mission field.
